128bps is the best and most widely accepted, you can use itunes to do it for you, just right click on it and hit convert to AAC then if you dont like AAC for some reason you can convert it back to MP3 and it will stay at 128bpsIs it possible to change the bitrate of an mp3 file?if so, how?
download SUPER converter.. a freeware. it gives u enuf and more options to edit audio and video files.. damn easy to use. try it.
You can re-rip your MP3 using the steps people have listed above to change the bit rate - but remember, anytime you re-sample (or re-encode) a file, you're losing a bit of quality. Additionally, if you have a file that was ripped at 128kbps and you want to ';upgrade'; the bit-rate - the only way to get the quality back is to re-rip the original from the CD.

You can; however, rip to lower bit-rates. Just remember - the smaller the bit-rate, the crappier the song will use. Personally, I use 192kbps for most of my MP3s. It's a good compromise on file size and sound quality. If you're running out of space on your phone, why not invest in a memory card? Most Mp3 phones seem to support MicroSD cards now adays and they're fairly inexpensive.
Sure... You can change as ur wish.... There are many freewares available... U can get in Google if u search for it.

U can have the bit rate ranging from 32 kpbs to 320 kbps. The size of the file depends on the bit rate of the song. But the quality of the song will be nice wen the bit rate is high.
