Changing the bitrate in itunes?

all the music in my itunes library are at different bitrates so when im listening to my songs, they go from being really loud to really quiet. is there anyway to change it so that they are all the same? and i dont need suggestions of how to do it for one song since i've got over 20 gigs of music, that would take too longChanging the bitrate in itunes?
Yes, there is a way to do that within iTunes, but it will cause files duplication. If u wanna try it with a couple of songs do this:

Go to Edit, Preferences, General, ';When you insert a CD'; click on Import Settings and select the Format and bitrate you would like. This will work not only for CDs, but also for music you already have but want to convert. After you set it up at your preferences, select one or two songs and right-click, select create AAC version (it should say mp3 if you picked that) and iTunes will convert the file(s).

But, as I pointed out, you will get a duplicated file.
